We wanted to supply hookbaits and have tested some thoroughly over the years. These baits were always going to be pop-ups and we secured the original 'Kent' recipe of the soft but non-porous pop-ups that were doing the business through the early nineties. Unfortunately our plan to unleash the ultimate pop-up hit a snag. Hookers launched the best pop-ups onto the market, all hand rolled with cork inserts. We couldn't compete, they had the best product and one that really did 'Stay Up all Night' our stayed up to very late but did eventually turn in for the night! What could we do? Rip off their product we thought, but then we thought he may resort to violence so our cunning plan was to get the 'hot' flavour to the man and he can do what he does best. Roll our balls for us.

There was never any doubt or discussion about the flavours. We would produce only two, a stinker of a fish flavour and the original and best Juicy Fruit. Both flavours are not currently available 'off the shelf' within the tackle trade (as far as we know) and both catch fish, for that we know for sure. We call then Billy's, because........wait for it.........they need no mates, they are designed to be fished alone, at extreme ranges. Think about it if you're a big fish, the biggest in the lake, you swim the furthest away from the anglers, you're bored with yellow pineapple and pink squid baits and you stumble across one of our dullish red beauties. Neatly tied with the finest dental floss ever produced. It just doesn't seem fair does it?
